There are so many things in the word that are more important! The genocide in Darfur, the world AIDS epidemic, the spread of terrorism, etc.

The people who are obsessive with the activities of a celebrity get to a point where their delusions run rampant and they actually believe everything said by the celeb.

I think it is just that it just makes the followers feel a "bonding" with the celeb. True, that is silly, but it is a shame that the obsessive people know more about the celeb than the celeb knows about themselves.

I believe it is just that some peoples lives are so shallow that they have to fulfill it somewhere and chasing the who where and when of someone is something to fill the void.

I think it's because people think that celebrities are perfect and that we have some sort of inferiority complex that makes them untouchable. But, they are just normal people, for the most part, and should be treated normally. I understand being a fan, but when you get creepily obsessive, then it's gone way too far. Just enjoy their work and go to a concert, but don't fantasize about marrying them and all that. That's why the general Jonas Brother's fan base scares me.

Jay Leno, David Letterman, the View, Oprah, The Star, Examiner, People magazine, etc. promote these folks on a daily basis. I gaurantee you if this wasn't around, no-one would care about celebrities adn the celebrities could live their lives.

More people in this country know more about Paris Hilton than the date of D-Day or who their U.S. Senator is for instance. SAD!!

People are into celebrities because it's just a little bit of escapism. We all know the horrors going on in the world today. We hear about it alot on TV, on the news, in newspapers, and on the internet. However, we don't need to be serious every minute of every day. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to lighten up our mood a little now and then. Was it really so bad to see how radiant Eva Longoria looked in her wedding dress?

People like to know the lifestyles of the rich and famous.

Personally, I think that people should give celebs their privacy, it's none of their beeswax.

You are right too, there are more important things to think about! We should be more worried about this world we share, not the celeb's.

Because ignorance is bliss and most people would rather fascinate over nothing in particular than contemplate real issues and life.

That is why I always try to point out to be consider like a human being we have to think like a human being. Otherwise having two feet or wearing a cloth only don't make us a human being.

Having said that, I think most of us very simple minded and shallow who can't think beyond our TV screen. If TV. talk bout Ms. Hilton, we stalk 24 hrs about her, if Radio talk show injected us about the world we live in, we just follow. We never ask how and why. Sometimes, I am wondering how the America reached in such level. Oh, I know why? We are clever in bringing from other countries and pay them good money so that they can contribute their know how to our system. We are good in purchasing not only commodities but also human brain from other countries.
