my fiance and i just got back from a romantic getaway for the weekend, and natrually there was lots of romance. Now that i am back it hurts to go pee. Is it from having alot of sex or maybe from the lubricant that we use? We have used the same lubricant for about a month and it has never given me a problem yet. Could it be because i am getting close to my period?

Get to a doctor! It sounds like a Urinary Tract Infection. Do you have to go more frequently than usual? When you go, does it only trickle? I had the same problem and when I went to the doctor, the infection had already reached my bladder. If you catch it early enough, you should be ok.

By the way, when I caught this UTI, I thought it was the lube too. Turns out I may not have been cleaning myself up enough after sex. When we start having sex again (next week because your supposed to avoid sex for 2 weeks after your swelling has gone down), I'm taking a shower when we're done to make sure everything is good and clean.

Aww...you remind me of past times. This is a normal occurrence among newlyweds, it's called cystitis. This is caused to lack of expwerience when "romancing" too much. Cystitis usually begins when bacteria enter the urinary tract through the urethra, the tube through which urine exits your body. From there, bacteria adhere to the bladder wall, and begin to multiply. Less commonly, bacteria can spread to the bladder from an infection in another part of the body.

The usual treatment for cystitis is antibiotics. You can take a number of steps to help prevent cystitis and other UTIs.
Most people with bladder infections develop signs and symptoms. These may include:

A strong, persistent urge to urinate
A burning sensation when urinating
Passing frequent, small amounts of urine
Blood in the urine (hematuria)
Passing cloudy or strong-smelling urine
A feeling of pressure in the lower abdomen
Low-grade fever

you must go to the doctor to fix it this time. But to avoid getting another, do this

Always empty your bladder before and after sex.
Avoid being rough while having intercourse and try to remain properly lubricated.
Do not "play" around your anal area and change to your vaginal area without washing first.
Drink plenty of cranberry juice next time you have a romantic getaway ; )

I concur with the UTI that most everyone has told you. However, do drink diluted cranberry juice, as the sugar in the juice helps to feed the bacteria. If it gets worse or you start feeling like you're peeing razor blades (which is how it feels when I get UTIs), see a doctor and get some antibiotics. You can also buy specific urinary pain pills at the drug store.

More than likely it's a UTI (urinary tract infection) starting up. Start by drinking lots of water and/or cranberry juice to begin flushing out the system, and you may want to give the doctor a call. If a UTI is present, then antibiotics will be needed.

I just realized something... does it burn when you pee, or does only the vaginal area burn when urine hits it? If it's the latter (vaginal area), then it's from all of the friction from sex.

possibly a UTI/ bladder infection. Sex can cause this. After having sex you should always pee to get the bacteria out of your urethra. I would see a doctor and he/she will have you pee in a cup to test it for WBC's and bacteria. To reduce UTI's I take cranberry pills and drink cranberry juice.

Go see your doctor. It is more than likely a UTI. DO NOT drink cranberry juice prior to seeing your doctor. This may result in a false negative, and you will still have the UTI. I worked in a lab, and had this happen to one of the patients. Go see your doctor, SOON!
