Because of the acid that is in OJ and the sodium laurel sulfate in your toothpaste...you can only taste the acid of the OJ and not the sweet

Personally, I think that everything tastes funny after I've brushed my teeth, and there's logical reasoning behind it. Toothpaste is sort of minty, and it stays in your mouth for a pretty long time. So if you mix a mint with OJ, it's bound to taste a bit funny.

It's the toothpaste flavor mixed with the juice flavor that just does not taste good. Not alot tastes too good just after brushing your teeth.

It’s because of a certain ingredient in toothpaste called sodium laurel sulfate. It actually blocks sweet sensors. All the other taste bud cells in your mouth are firing away nicely, but the receptors which pick up the sweet sensors are not working anymore. Not only does it block the sweet sensors, it enhances the sour and bitter, so you get this massive influx of sour and bitter taste coming through the mouth

Ewww, I know! The acid content in OJ is really high, so after tasting the sweet, minty toothpaste, drinking a citrusy fruit drink makes it taste bitter. Yuck...try OJ and yogurt! All the sugar in yogurt makes it really gross!
