I was 7,8,9. Saturday morning cartoons, then outside. I was the first to be outside when the lawnmowers were running with the smell of fresh grass everywhere. I would run up stairs to grab a glass of water and run back outside under the shade of the tree to make mudpies. One by one, the neighborhood kids would come out , boys and girls, to play dodgeball. Or we would bring our Huffy bikes out and do races. We were muddy, sweaty, had scratches on our knees and had dirty socks, but it was the best time of my life. I didn't have to do laundry, didnt have to plan meals, and enjoyed nature and the sun. And i got to play things like "Mama had a baby and the head popped off" with dandelions.

I was 13 in 1960 so all my teenage years were spent in that wonderful decade. I grew up in an age of liberation and increasing freedom and, by God, what a laugh I had. I saw, and met, the Beatles, I learned guitar and played in some wonderful bands. We ended up playing resident in a club and met lots of famous people like Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey amongst others. I joined a football (soccer team) and made loads of new friends. I went all over the place with my friends and had a ball. I left school in 1964 with the best exam results for my year, gained lots of knowledge, started work in a bank and always had plenty of money. I had several girl friends so, yes, I would say that the 60's decade was probably my best time. Wish I were there now.
