The way they ask questions and answer them gives away a little of who they are and to some people thats scary.

I never had my private until more recently. All the time, I kept saying I would never put mine private. Then, some of my contacts and I started getting violation notices for no good reason. TCs were being targeted and some contacts were deleted. Alot of us agreed we had no choice if we wanted to be able to stay at all.
I would love to have more people see our questions, but not at the expense of violations and deletions.
We have made complaints to Yahoo with suggestions on how to make this better and they closed the suggestion after 6 hours and 47 comments.
We really don't get a choice anymore.

Too many have lost accounts due to people reporting for no reason. I choose to keep mine private. My contacts know I have nothing to hide. You can do what you want with that option, it is up to the individual, just as the block feature is also an option. Many good people have chosen this option. The trolls are the ones that caused it.

Enjoy your day!

We are not hiding anything. We have a right to privacy. We have a right to avoid stalkers and trolls who are running amok all over Y/A getting people deleted. It's not cute, it's not funny and it's the only option we have. If you don't like it, I'm sorry...but it's called survival. And to quote a lovely response, "period." :-/

When I started getting a rash of violations, I knew I had a disgruntled questioner on my hands. One who was systematically going through every question I had answered and reporting me. To save myself the frustration, I went underground!

I think they are wisely cautious. My stuff is private to me and my network...history has seen too many suspended and deleted for trusting the wrong people. Easier to trust nearly no one for your self preservation.

I had to answer this question.

People who keep them private are people like myself and tarabearsmom who have a stalkers/trolls after them who thinks it is funny to get your accounts deleted. Many of my contacts are in the same boat. One guy had every question he asked over a one month period reported because he apparently ticked someone off with an answer he gave. Yahoo suspended his account...even tho he appealed, he lost. You will understand if you ever have this happen to you...but I hope for your sake, it doesn't.

thank you for hating I know I am the ish.......
holla is a couple of violations away from leaving us so in that aspect like a phoenix she will arise........
and you know our profiles should be view only(not really) not to be able to edit in any way..
yahoo should beef up profiles protection and age requirements.....

Because of trolls and stalkers. I found out that someone was using my Q&A's to get into someone elses private acct. and violate all their Q&A's. I can't let that happen to my friends. So sorry.

i keep my q&a's private due to stalker and troll issues. i have dealt with them in the past and i have learned having my q&a's private it helps keep the number of them down.
