Dodge City, Kansas
Circa 1876

Dirt Bentster was already very drunk when he came into the Long Branch Saloon. He weaved his way over to the bar and ordered a shot of whiskey......"Ahhhhhh............
(1) Bartenders, Barstools, Barmaids......... My favorite trio!!"
He gulped down the shot and ordered another. U.S.Marshal Matt Dillon walked up to him........."You've had enough, Dirt. You need to leave."
Dirt: "What??? You're throwing out a (3) Good Man Like Me? What's the matter, Marshal.......(5) Is Anybody Loving You These Days? Is that why you're so crabby??" He let out a raucous laugh. Matt grabbed him by the collar and walked him out the swinging doors. Dirt looked at him, WHISKEY TEARS flowing down his face........."Marshal.......I........ I .........
I can't swim. You're gonna need to help me." He was so drunk, he thought they were in water.
Matt:"You're fine, just fine. See that?" He pointed to the jail.
Dirt:"What?! That (2) Distant Shore? I don't think I can make it, Marshal Dillon."
Matt:"Sure you can, buckaroo. We'll do it together."
Dirt struggled to maintain his balance....."(4) How Am I Doin'?"
Matt:"Fine. Just fine."

Once Matt got him settled in the cell, assuring him that he would not drown and that there were no sharks in there with him, he sat down with a cup of coffee........He mused to himself:"(6)What Was I Thinkin' when I took this job?!"

Meanwhile....... Dirt was having a terrible nightmare:

How Am I Doin', you ask? Well, a Good Man Like Me is staying away from the Bartenders, Barstools, and Barmaids of course. I sailed off to a Distant Shore not too long ago and cried away my Whiskey Tears.
When I came back, SHE asked me What Was I Thinking, and all I could reply was, "Is Anybody Loving You These Days?"

lol, that was fun...I hate to admit that my story sucks lol

I used to like on the distant shore of love, but what was I thinkin'? I thought you could love a good man like me, but I was wrong. Now my world is of bartenders, barstools, and barmaids. When I cry, I cry whiskey tears. You asked how am I doin'? I don't really know. Is anybody loving you these days? Because nobody's loving me.
