Seeing as my Hubby's in the British Army, and served WITH the Americans in Iraq, I have to say I agree with you!

That's just going from the stories he tells me!

I do not agree. The United States Army is widely considered to be the best in the world. Though the British army is a formidable force as well.

I think yours is probably a generalisation, but when I was in the British army in the 1950s (Korea) the Americans seemed to rely on force of numbers rather than intelligence and initiative.by small units. They certainly have a different concept of warfare.

I can't agree or disagree, because it is truly a matter of perception.

I will say this however. The SAS is the top Special operations fighting force in the world. The British Army's regular troops are like American regular troops, except Americans don't stop in the middle of a mission to sip on some friggin tea. Give me a break! I experienced this first hand, so don't say it doesn't happen.
