Are you referring to yourself or to someone else? If it's another person, you can suggest better behavior, but whether or not they will take your advice is questionable. It's up to them whether or not they want to be embarrassed, so there's not much you can do to stop them from making a fool of themselves.

But if it's you, you're talking about, that's a different situation. You simply must exercise self-control, whether it's your words or your actions, because they can't be retracted. You can apologize afterwards, but the incident won't soon be forgotten. So the old adage, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, applies here. You have the ability to choose how to act in any given situation, and you are the master of your own fate. Only you can control impulses that will hinder your success in life, or make you a laughingstock. Stop and think before you act or speak. That's the best way to avoid embarrassment. You can do it -- it's not that hard. Good luck!

That's a hard one. What you might find embarrassing they might not be embarrassed by. If it's pushing away friends, you might want to have a conversation with them about what people are thinking about them. But for the most part, I don't think you can teach someone to not be socially awkward. Some just are that way and they can't help it and you can't change them. You have to embrace them for who they are.

what are they actually doing? Apparently they don't know they're embarrassing their self so you should tell them if that doesn't work then I would just video tape them and play it back for them. People usually don't like what they see if they're making an *** out of themselves.

Don't laugh at its jokes. Just sit there and act like they don't exist.
