curl, put first layer of mascara on, wait for the coat to dry, curl again (hold for 15-20 seconds) and add another coat.
it also helps to but mascara with curl solution or a brand that promises __% more curlier lashes.
try colour sense extreme curl mascara
or daring curve mascera

I agree with warming the eyelash curler, but I also wet my eyelashes first. Take an old mascara brush that you've cleaned all the mascara out of and dip it in some water. Run it along your eyelashes and THEN curl with the warm curler. Let dry for about 30 seconds and put on the mascara.

Try this:
I heat my eyelash curler with my blowdryer and curl my lashes with the warm/hot curler. It gives you pretty much the same result as using a curling iron on your hair. Be careful how hot you make your curler. I always let it cool a little bit and test the temperature of the metal curler on my lips before putting it on my eyes. I use the lips because the skin there is thinner and highly sensitive to heat just like the delicate eye area. But, trust me, one or two accidents and you'll soon learn how hot is too hot!

"Walk" the curler out from the lash line to the tips with gentle squeezes. Don't just clamp it on and give it one big kinky squeeze...you won't get that perfect 45 degree curl. Let the lashes cool just slightly and then apply a couple light coats of mascara and build up the lashes.

Also, perhaps your mascara is old and clumpy causing your lashes to droop? Buy a fresh tube, but try the above method I just described too.

Good luck!

I agree w/ the people who recommended heating your eyelash curler briefly w/ a blow dryer. Touch the curler to make sure it's not too hot & crimp your lashes starting at the root, once in the middle, then at the end if your lashes are long.

Use a mascara formula designed to curl lashes.

Applying mascara should be the last step to prevent breaking your lashes & gooping up the curler.

if you have a metal eyelashcurler..try taking a blowdryer (make sure it's on LOW) and heat up the curler for just a few seconds. curl your eyelashes..and hold it there for a few seconds. then put on your mascara..take the brush and start at the root of your lashes and wiggle it a bit to get a good coat at the base. then brush the rest of lashes in an upward motion. do 3-4 coats on e/ eye and when you're finished take your mascara brush and just lightly do the tips of your lashes for a finish.

try using Benefit BADgal mascara in black..it works great =) good luck.

ps. def. do notttt curl your lashes after mascara like these others are telling you to do..it will rip out and damage your lashes and give them a clumpy look.

buy legthening mascara, or volume mascara.
before you use your eyelash curler hold it under a blowdryer for 30 seconds. then curl. unless its heated, of course.
