Watch, the neo-cons will blame it on Clinton. If a repube is elected again in 2009 and there is a terrorist attack, they will still blame it on Clinton even though he hasn't been in office since 2000.

The fact of the matter is plain and simple, we were all asleep at the switch on 9/11. A false sense of security that terrorism would not hit us here at home had been developed and nutured for the past 25 years, other than the odd attack like the homegrown OK city, or a bomb in the van in WTC. The attack would have occurred no matter who was in office because the steps we have taken since that day were not in place and security was lax.

It is ridiculous to blame George Bush or Bill Clinton for 9/11. How is a president, in and of himself, supposed to prevent what happened? Anybody that thinks any other person in office would have made a difference is a complete idiot and is simply showing their hatred for the other side.
How about putting the blame where it belongs....radical Islam.
Also, why are you people always blaming George Bush for failing to protect us then whining about wire tappings and other such nonsense? Either you want to be protected or you don't. It is almost like you are hoping for another terrorist attack while Bush is in office. It is sick and twisted, but I am starting to believe it is true.

In the "Protection Racket" You first offer the mark protection from harm. If he refuses to pay for your "Protection" you arrange a small sample of what life without "Protection" is like. Usually the mark is then willing to pay. You never harm a paying mark unless they refuse to pay. You will not see another terrorist attack as long as the Republicans control the White House.

how can the people who failed to protect us from 9/11 protect us from another 9/11? that's easy. republicans lie, lie, lie. it's that simple.
they've got a right wing media machine in fox "news" that feeds you their load of sh*t every single day, no connection to reality or logic or facts whatsoever -
they scare the hell out of you with al qaeda, then tell us we're "winning" the war. well, huh, excuse me, but how can we simultaneously be winning, yet face a greater threat from that same enemy - either we're winning or we're not. and if we're winning, we have less to be afraid of not more and if we're not winning then bush's war was a failure.
but not the republicans - at the same moment we're both better off with their strategy, yet face a greater risk of an attack and these are both reasons to stick with them.
it defies the imagination.

who could have protected us is cia operatives but there hands are tied because every person wants a say and they dont want to work with people who will kill to protect the country and way of life. the cia was founded by wild bill donavan to be an agency that went in and kicked *** and took names. he had the worst of the best working for him. he had people who would shoot u for daring to think about attacking the u.s. that is the way he wanted it and guess what it worked until politics got involved then u couldnt hire the right people to do the job so u went from an agency that would take the risks to being a risk-averse political entity.

No one could have protected us from 9/11. Would be nice if we could get those responsible, but nothing would have kept that from happening. We didn't have the awareness that such a feat was possible.

He was doing the best he can with the information and tools he had at the time.
This nation was hit by the worst terrorist attack in our history on US soil.
What is important to you is to make it poltical.
Or your buddies who think that Bush did 9/11.
(Please remember 1/3 of democrats believe Bush did 9/11)
Or those who want to run away to think they won't come here again.
Guess we are all in this fight we can fight together to stop Muslim terrorists or spend our time pointing fingers.

Giuliani said that and I believe 9/11 would have happened even if the snowman, uh, er, Al Gore was President.
