Black magic is real in a sense. If by black you mean negative intent. But all magic is the same. It is all one magic. The intent is where people get the colors from. People that are experienced in the craft do not separate black, white, green, etc. They understand the laws of nature and what is acceptable and what is not. Now Voodoo is often referred to as black magic. It is something that you usually pay for. Curses, hexes, and things that affect someone's free will would all be considered black.
Negative magic works just as well as positive but is strongly advised against not only for others sake but also your own. Whatever energy you send out is going to come back to you three fold the strength that you sent it. Not to mention that it is just morally wrong. Many people first getting interested in the craft are drawn to the darker side of things because they really want to see if they can make something happen. They think that if they dig into the dark arts that there is power there to be had. This is true but it is a dangerous power. If you go to that side of things it is easy to lose your sanity.
The "lighter" side of magic is just as powerful but is harder to master for some. If you are seriously interested in these types of things I suggest that you research the subject before taking any action.

If all you want is a laugh then you will never believe in yourself enough to make ANYTHING work. Magic only works if you believe it will. Any form of magic is based on the absolute belief and commitment of that person. But seeing as you only want a laugh then absolutely nothing will work.
You would be surprised what can happen with just the power of the mind. Ohh if only you knew. Good job you don't.

The problem with magic is that so-called "black" magicians like to do spells about becoming rich and powerful and destroying their enemies (what most sane people would do!), while "white" magicians stick to rubbish spells like praying the the sun will rise every day and asking for world peace. Black magicians are a secretive bunch, therefore no-one really knows whether they are getting the results they are after (I certainly wouldn't shout about it if I was conjuring £50 notes out of thin air!), while the White magicians aren't telling either, but since the sun is still rising every day, I guess they would claim that dancing naked around stonehenge and channelling cosmic energy is actually something worth doing. Personally, I think it's all a load of old cobblers!

Majik is neither black nor white. It is the intent behind the majik that is good or evil. It is just like anything else. A gun is not good or bad, it is just there. The use of the gun is what is good or bad. If you want to practice "black" majik, then your intientions are bad, thus whatever you do with the majik will be evil. However, you do not believe in majik, so nothing you do will "make it work". Majik is no different than a god, it only has the power you give it through belief. Sorry, but that is just the way things are.

Magic(k) is neither black nor white. It simply is. It depends on the person and what they "use" it for.
Spellwork itself is a different matter and really its more like active, involved, prayer- except you gain the strength to change things for yourself. And like most instances of religious happenings it requires your belief. I don't recommend you doing it "for a laugh." Why don't you read some books on the topic or do a few internet searches on: Wicca, Paganism, Scott Cunningham, Gerald Gardner, etc. before you decide anything.

Black or White magick comes from the intended use.
If you do spell to harm someone then it would be considered black magick. But if you do the same spell to help some one it would be white.
A lot depends on your point of view too.
For example. We are doing a Ritual in a few days to help a friend who has Cancer. We have her permission to do this. But Because of the Gods/Goddesses we are invoking & that we are going to attack the cancer cells directly with the spell. Some of the Pagans in our community consider it Black.
But because we have her permission to do the spell & ritual in her behalf to get rid of the cancer I consider it White.

is this really your interrest or are dark forces guiding you? Imagine your life being controlled by forces unseen to you, do you really want to give up your freedom for a "laugh"?
imagine this, a rat sees a piece of cheese on a piece of paper, that rat doesn't know that paper is covered with glue, it only sees the cheese, once on that piece of paper it cannot move and it's only option is to chew off it's arms and legs to get free.
Once you seek the dark arts, there is no way to remove what you've learned, and you cannot remove your head to get free of them.
Make your choices wisely, there are things in life you cannot turn back from.
