well it's like this... if you fried your m/board your cpu and memory could also be fried, and maybe your graphics card too.. there will be no way of telling until you get another m/board... and if you did get a m/board that would fit these units, and they where fried then you would be wasting your money...

so the best thing to do is do a total upgrade to a more up to date system, like a 64x2 AMD, that way you will not wast your money on old stock

buy a bearbone system, which consists of :-

Tower case,
M/board. preferably a MSI m/board or ASUS( the best)
CPU, AMD or Intel 64x2
Memory,
graphics card,

alway buy from a local small computer shop. that way if you have problems you can always take it back to the shop yourself, plus you will get a better service, Reason local small computer shops need to give a good service to stay in business

Then use your old CD/DVD, hard drive and floppy

try these websites to checkout what a bearbone system is

The main things you need to look for are a motherboard which has an APG Graphics bus, supports minimum Intel Pentium IV, and minimum RAM of your specifications.

Look at this website for a motherboard which can fit these specifications:

Good luck and much fun rebuilding your system!
