Buy a CD or a government bond and hide it in a safety deposit box (pay a two year rental on it so they don't send you mail). That way you make better interest and your husband wont find it.

Don't do business with ripped wallet and spit on those who try to get you to do it.

Ok, I guess it depends on how hidden you want the money to be.

You don't want the husband to know it exists. If you are careful, then an account at a bank other than your regular bank would do. If your husband does business at the bank, then it is not impossible for a teller to slip and blurt it out that you have an extra account. Guarding the mail will be important. See if you can have the mail delivered to a post office box. Set it up in a post office your husband would not be going into. Besure to check that box regularly and keep it cleaned out.

Now, lets say you want it so secret that your husband cannot find it even if he is actively searching for it, like during a divorce or a deeply suspicious husband who will stop at nothing to control the wife. It would not take too much investigation to discover that you had opened an account. A good PI can figure this stuff out. Therefore, putting the money in a bank would be a bad idea in this case. That would make it traceable. Cash is untraceable and can be hidden however, you want to make sure you hide it where you can get to it later. Don't bury it in the backyard or put it in a park where they are planning on putting in a lake or something.

One idea is to get a pretty solid cash box and let a family member or close friend hold onto it. Put the money in there but do not let anyone else have the key or know the combination (depending on what it is). That will keep a person from dipping into your savings. The bad part about this is that you won't earn a dime of interest on it. However, it will not be detectible to your husband unless someone talks.

One final note. The safety deposit box is traceable if it is in your name. Also, there are rules and regulations about what can be stored in there. Most banks do not care (and do not want to know) what you put in there but some do care if you are keeping cash in there.

Get a private account and just keep your mouth shut. Don't tell anyone. Hide your account information. If a lot of money is going in it ,maybe have a private will that discloses it to those it is intended for.

I would invest it in a CD or money market account, something that you only have to have it in for a short period to get the interest and has no early with drawl penalties in case you need it immediately. My husband tried to hide his money from me by sending the statements to his moms house, but he is investing it so I don;t care what he does with it. If we were ever to get divorced it would be traceable so I would get half. My dad is trying to hide money from my mom and he just puts things in my name and I keep track of what is his. There are ways you just have to be creative.

You can open a no interest checking or saving account. I don't which banks have that but just call around. I wouldn't leave the cash in the house. I believe if you open a christmas club they pay no interest. Good luck.

1. Pick up the mail yourself so that you can pull out the bank statement before he sorts through the pile

2. Don't discuss it or mention it to anyone.

This method works every time. The only thing you have to finesse is reporting the interest at tax time. I haven't got a clue about how you do this if he does the taxes and you file a joint return.

Open a new account with internet access only so that statements will not be mailed. If you have a lot of money you could open an offshore account.

Well first off I hope you have a good reason (like, you are secretly saving to leave him because he is a bum)

BUT..if he knows about this account, open another, and give your job as your mailing address...keep the atm card locked at work too and he will never know.

Work 2 jobs. Save all the money from the 2nd job till you find out if he is more honest with you than your question indicates you as being honest with him. If you discover him totally honest with you then be totally honest with him. Save money by not using what you find not necessary.
