Well, it depends on what we are talking about. As far as cartoons go, the G rated ones, yes I agree. They are targeted mainly for the kids, and they do not need to see that. I do not want them to go back and re-edit the caterpillar in Alice In Wonderland, I mean come on, you can't mess with that, and the smoking caterpillar is an inherent part of the book too.

I just wish they would stick closer to the original stories, which they have lots of trouble doing when converting a book to a screenplay. They always water it down for the kids, eliminating lots of the death, and eating by the wolves and such.

As far as non-animated Disney movies, like the PG rated ones, I think they should NOT ban smoking, because in plenty of cases smoking may have a lot to do with the character protrayal.

Disney is one of the most dangerous organizations out there. Better watch them, or you could find yourself surrounded by a bunch of hypnotized hyper-consumers....oh wait...it already happened!

Hi there. Smoking is really a "hot" subject in the business, heavy populated area. It's all being done for health reasons. Those who do not smoke are really angry with 2nd hand smoke and think it disgusting to even smoke. I just read this morning that 440,000 kick the bucket each year from smoking. That's potent! Disney is the "young" population primarily......I really think it is setting a very good example for others to follow. Ironically speaking, I smoke. Sorry to say that to you. Just being honest.

Should have been done along time ago, although I don't remember ever seeing anyone smoke in a Disney film.

Disney is a station mainly for kids & teens, so are it's movies. So it makes sense for them not to promote smoking.

I think it's fine...

...You don't want little kids all of a sudden taking white crayons and pretending to smoke with them do we? We'll ask them where they got that idea and they'll say "I got it from a Disney movie!"

That's lame.
Just because a child sees that a character in a movie is smoking, doesn't mean that the kid is going to want to get up and smoke. I mean really.
The FCC is going a taaaaad overboard nowadays.

I think It's cause of that retarded bill slithering through congress. Saying smoking in movies influences teens to smoke. I think it's rediculus that there are parents out their that think they can control all of the teens in the u.s when they don't even know us.
Theres smoking in Peter Pan, What are they gonna do edit it out.

Well I think it's good little kids don't need to think smoking's "cool" so keep it out of the movies they watch. Why support a deadly and rather stupid habit?
