It's starting to bug me a lot. I don't know if I am stressed but at the same time it seems like I am. My mom just blew it off and made a joke about it and it pissed me off. Let me tell you a little about myself, I have alopecia areata, apparently it can be caused by stress, I am very impatient, get pissed off easily, and when I ask my mom something and she says no, this is very unpleasant, I usually whisper that I hope she dies. If someone punches me or tries to hurt me I get pissed off and feel like stabbing them. I am good at hiding a lot of the things I do and I am ashamed to even bring them out or tell anyone. I sound like a maniac after saying this, but really... I just say things but don't mean them. Please, tell me if I am stressed and what can I do to prevent it. Also, I am not sure if it is from stress or something but sometimes I get mosquito bite looking thins on my arms and I get scratchy red marks on my stomach and back.

Thanks in advance, I am one messed up kid :(

Your not a messed up kid. And yes it sounds like you are stressed you just need to take a deep breath and if somone makes you mad just either talk to somone about it. And if somone makes you that mad that you seem like you want to stab them or somthing just walk away and put all that frustration into somthing else. Like boxing or somthing like that. You are not a messed up kid. You just need to take a deep breath and try to relax a lil bit. ..... i hope that helps.

As a young person, you are constantly evaluating your place in the world. Alopecia definitely is testing how you feel your acceptance is being challenged and, hence, the stress. You may want to see a counselor to address this, but with time, and building of self-confidence, you will do just fine.

I know an airline pilot who suddenly developed alopecia areata and he is in his late 40's. Since his self-esteem is built on more than hair, he is doing just fine and now calls him self "Mr. Clean." Everyone loves him and actually admires him more for his ability to handle his condition. You can too.

perhaps an anger management class or learning some stress relief techniques. I thought that the kickboxing idea was good, that would release some tension.
