not at all....many people that are close or mentor and mented (making up words as I go) can have vast differences of opinions not only in politics but taste if food, movies and the likes......

I don't find that strange at all.

Often a mentee will learn things from the mentor, but then develop her own opinions based on her experience with her mentor as well as her own life experience.

I frequently disagree with my mentor on many things, but I still have great respect for him and his opinions.
