There are a lots of things like Astrology, numerology etc. which one has more effect on human beings? Or do they really have any effect? In Astrology they say about planets and satellites can influence all the creatures in this world. How true is all these?

Now a days I am little interested in these topics. There are also sun signs and moon signs. These all changes according to geographies/ communities/ culture etc.

Would love to get some expert opinions..!  thank you very much..!

A lot of people believe in these things, and if it works for them, who am I to argue. But I can tell you that the charts astrologers use to follow the movements of the planets are so woefully out of date that none of the planets are anywhere near where they think. So if it's really planetary positions that influence our lives, what are they looking at?

Hey there! I LOVE THIS QUESTION! This is not a rant, this question is valid and every student of astrology should ask it. I would like to give my INTUITIVE perception as I am not a scientist so I can not answer from a deeper point of view. I can say from observing science and the planets for some time now that they do have energy, they are not dead pieces of rock. Now the asteroids are dead pieces of rock: Vesta, Juno, Ceres etc. But the planets themselves have been proven to have life on them, not like ours but they do have LIFE. If you think about what others are speaking of as Gravity, AND THE ORDER OF THE UNIVERSE. How can one not ponder the possibility of the planets, constellations and other stars not having an impact on us. Take a prime example of the moon for instance. The moon DOES have an affect on our bodies. We are over 90% water (brain included) and the moon governs the oceans, seas, lakes, our orbit... you don't think it wouldn't have an affect on US??? It does and this is one of our planets (or lights as we call it in astrology) I know these planets and the signs (constellations) have an impact on us and our EXISTENCE. However, I do recognize that we are the masters of our own destiny, whether you believe in reincarnation or not. We all have a purpose. Whether that purpose is personal or if it spreads to all of humanity we are still in control of it. The planets, or world are only influences. I think this questions is amazing and I was honored to take a stab at it! Very good points (on most) from the poster who called this questions a "rant". Moon

Astrology and its ilk are BUNT. Read it from the 'experts' @ http://www.reasons.org/resources/apologetics/astrology.shtml ; "...Astrology

bases horoscopes on the moment of birth, not the moment of conception when, in fact, one's genetic characteristics are fixed;
ignores the gravitational forces of non-solar system bodies (e.g., the pull of gravity by the obstetrician on a newborn child is about six times greater than that of Mars); ... For these and many other reasons, 186 leading astronomers and physicists signed a statement published in a 1975 issue of Humanist magazine denouncing astrology as having "no scientific foundation whatever." etc.
..... and an article from Newsweek: "Astrology is widely considered to be discredited because of certain very obvious objections:

1) It gives people the impression that they are the center of the universe and that the constellations are somehow arranged with them in mind.

2) It suggests that there is a supernatural supervision of our daily lives, and that this influence can be detected and expounded by mere humans.
And why would it matter, except that religion, too, believes that the cosmos was created with us in mind, that our lives are supervised by an almighty force that priests and rabbis and imams can interpret, and that – by way of doctrines such as “original sin” – our natures have been largely determined when we are still in the womb or the cradle. " etc.
Religion and this astronomy junk are similar in that just enough 'truth' is put into it that some people believe the Whole Thing! .

The 2 above me have a point but how about this.........

* The constellations are many light years away from us.

* They are too far away relatively to their mass to exerce a direct and material change on earth.

* The Chinese still believe in astrology and they actually have a powerful economy.

* Many famous scientists and doctors studied astrology including Nostradamus (who pioneered among other things the use of the benzoic acid).
