Bill Keller is the only one I've seen that cares about the viewers interests and not ratings thats the closest thing. But he is a preacher who just feels his calling is to reach out to the lost that never get the Word otherwise. He is right about Dr. Phil and Oprah, that they are false hope merchants and they care more about selling books and other products and less about the people they are supposed to be caring about. So as far as regular talk show hosts, no, Jerry Springer would be the closest of any of them and that is very, very, very sad that someone with a show like that competing with someone like Dr. Phil and Oprah cares more.

But producers of all talk shows care about ratings to be picked up for a new season.
Montel and Dr. Phil do care about real issues and situations they have to deal with

I think that there are some topics that really intrest them and hit them hard so they try to bring people on their show for awarness of the issue.
but many times they do only care about ratings mostly when they bring something like a sex scandle of course it for ratings.

I say Maury because I know him personnally well not know him like a buddy but I spent two days on his set and with his staff. I also think Tyra maybe real.

I would say that Oprah is the most caring, she does give back. But I think they all care about their ratings including her.

I get the impression that Tyra Banks really does care. Sometimes she gets really involved, and depending on the topic, really emotional. As for the others, no. I think it's mainly for ratings.
