I saw this movie and now I want to move to another country!! I currently live in NY and am looking into Canada since it borders the US and I hate flying so I can still take the train or even drive back to the US to see my family. I need help, WHY do other people come HERE to the USA??? What does the government do with almost $800 a month of taxes they take out of my paycheck?!?!? I claim single at the end of the year so I barely see any thing back during "Tax Refund Season" IF THAT!!! I feel that if Healthcare was FREE I would feel difrrent, but OMG, this movie has me asking questions!!!

Canada has the most deaths related in a simple ailment such as colon cancer and America has not had any treated or known cases of people with colon cancer dying, because we do not put people on a 3-6 month waiting list to get treated for cancer. So if you want to wait between 3-6 months for a Doctor to finally see you and then put you a waiting list to treat you go over to another country. Really, go look up all the deaths in Canada universal (socialized) medical due to being put on waiting lists that lasts for months before you can get in to see a doctor to be treated.

Michael Moore is so easily discredited if you actually look into what he is "investigating" with. He shows all the good but neglects all the majority bad of things.

Lets see where Michael Moore goes when he has a heart attack. Canada, Cuba, or America. God, Castro didn't even use his own universal health care hospitals! He had a Doctor fly in from Spain to treat him instead of his Cuban Doctors.

If you think you are overtaxed now, just imagine the increases if government takes over healthcare. They already ran Social Security into the ground. What makes anybody think healthcare will improve under government control?

I can tell you one thing for certain. It would be anything but free. Look at how much you have paid into social security so far in your life. Then study the prospects of getting anything back. Whatever you do manage to get, if anything, will have been anything but free. The same will be true of healthcare.

I think he is a good filmmaker, but I can't rely on the information he provides. He has a clever way of only presenting the facts that support his thesis, and leaving out everything else.

For instance, he presented the French health care system as a model system far superior to what exists in America. Support for this comes from a group of people he assembled that love the system and have had good experiences with it. I could do the same here in the U.S. by bringing together a small group of people who love our system, or go to France and find 10 people who have had bad experiences there and present a skewed representation of either system.

What cannot, IMHO, be disputed is that our system of health insurance is out of whack. With it being delivered through our employers for the the vast majority, and with the financial incentives for the insurance middle-men to withold medical care, the goal of health care is being subverted by our backwards systems.

Detractors point to the socialized medical systems in other countries, and use scare tactics such as poor care, slow care, and rationed care to turn Americans away from embracing such a system. But, is there no way for us to develop a better system than what is out there that would maximize the benefits and minimize the drawbacks? Of course, one would have to assume our government is capable and trustworthy enough for such a massive undertaking - and be prepared for a 60% income tax rate for starters.

My biggest gripe with "Sicko" is that everyone kept referring to their socialized health care as "FREE." It is most definately NOT free by any stretch. Those who earn the money are paying for both themselves, and those who are not earning money, with their tax dollars.

I don't think about Michael Moore at all.

The taxes taken out of your check go towards Social Security, Medicare, and your Income Tax. If you have health coverage through your employer, that is taken out pre-tax, so the government never touches that money at all.

Health care will never be FREE--you can bet your sweet bippy that there will be a tax to cover Universal health coverage, just like they have in every country with such a system.

Micheal Moore was on the Chris Matthews show on MSNBC and said that universal health care should be like the military health care system. I strongly disagree. My wife was in the military and we had access to the military health care system and it's terrible. We never saw the same doctor twice. I had health care insurance through my employer so we used it. I want to decide which health care insurance that I have. I don't want the government to decide it for me. People complain about the government but they trust the government to decide their health care options

Michael Moore is captain obvious. He takes things that everyone already knows and makes a movie about it and people go in shock but I mean it's been this way for how many years now.

I thought it was a very compelling argument for a nationalized health care system. I hate the fact that my payments toward healthcare go towards multi-million dollar CEO salaries, politicians pockets (both sides no less), advertisements, and administrators who are paid to deny coverage among other things. I would gladly pay more taxes to know that everyone is covered, and in the long run it would be cheaper for everyone.

This movie is full of lies and was inspired by hatred for the current administration.

You live in the greatest country in the world.

Police protection and emergency medical services are unmatched anywhere in the world.

All I can say is, if you decide to leave, denounce your citizenship as well, so you can't come back.

He is a proven liar and distorter of the truth. If you want to wait months for medical procedures that you desperately need, then move to Canada for their socialized healthcare. We'll miss you.
