of all the personality types there are the neocon mind is simply the most fascinating. They view the world as victory/ defeat, right/wrong........ they also have the need to be right and the I told you so thing going on. Of course they will find some obscure and rarely referenced speech Bush made when he was trying to get the gay vote, and the time he hedged on climate change and claim that was the official position.

I don't know where you get that conservatives claim the civil war the founding of the nation. But Republicans were the party that put Lincoln in the White House because most democrats could not see getting rid of slavery. Republicans also were the ones who helped put civil rights over the top because the northern democrats did not have the votes. Senator Dirksen from Illinois was a friend of President Johnson and leader of the Senate Republicans, Dirksen helped write the Civil Rights bill and then kept the Republicans together in passing it and the he was one of the prime sponsors of the Open Housing Act a major civil rights piece of legislation. Its going to take a lot longer to discuss rationally the need for work on global warming because there still are scientists that dispute it and the desire of the democrats to push all the costs of enacting it on the US and not put costs on countries like Mexico and China will be a major debate for years. The danger is if conservatives are not listened to now about radical Islam none of these other issues makes sense since we will be in a major fight for our lives if the far left has its way and allows islamofascism to take over.

Unfortunately, Bush has messed things up so much that it will take longer than 20 years to achieve this. In the past, it was the religious right that used God to justify slavery, denying women the right to vote, and segragation. Gay marriage will be added to the list of things we can't believe used to be outlawed.

In 20 years there will be an entirely new generation of adults. These new adults will have no idea about the mood of the people today. Those of you from here, who will be around 20 years from now, will have fading memories. It will be difficult to remember the who, what, when, and where of today. So, it's very likely many historical facts will be altered.

None of this will happen in 20 years. People will hardly remember the man made climate change claim and will make up something else. Maybe acid rain, ozone layer, or maybe even global cooling will come back. Universal health care will have collapsed a long time ago and will defiantly not cover everyone.

As much as I agree with your premise about gay marriage & global warming, the next BIG MISTAKE we could make as a country is thinking that a DNC-endorsed candidate like Hillary Clinton is going to fix things. Politics in this country is broken, and it's every bit as much a Democratic problem as it is a GOP problem. The Democrats just kiss up to a different set of special interests who pad their pockets. Hillary is every bit as crooked as Bush. Let's not make the mistake of thinking this is a "Republican" problem. That would be hopelessly naive.

Not really. In 20 years there will be a whole new set of concerns and the average Joe will just be trying to make a living and raising his family.

Maybe ALL conversations at that time will be in the language of our conquerors, since the scenario you outlined would mean Democrats had been in charge.
Then again, if that had been the case, our enemies would probably not have looked so kindly on the institution of same-sex marriage.
Yes, this is a flippant answer, but I consider the question to be so also. We're all entitled to our opinions.

Of course they will.
In the future and according to them they will then claim that it took twenty years for policies instituted by the Bush administration to take effect, despite -of course- frequent opposition and interference by Democrats.
The Republicans are the Howard Sterns of politics, they invented everything. Tell 'em Fred, hoo hoo Robin...

Oh, you mean when the liberals turn us into an communism?
No, because the liberals will have eliminated history as a subject of study. Too many inconvenient examples of the stupidity of their ideas.
