my friend is spanish and he hates reggaeton but likes hip hop... i told him reggaeton is Hip Hop In Spanish.. really they both the same??

there is nothing wrong with that maybe he just likes the varied beats in hip hop. i listen to both but i can't take too much reggaeton, they still have to have this beat that is Spanish like. i cant explain it, but that's how i feel. i can only listen to reggaeton for so long then i just get aggravated. that's probably how your friend feels.

No, it's alright if you don't like it. I do like some reggaeton but I'm very picky because a lot of it is crap. There are some exceptions but it mostly sucks. Reggaeton is not hip-hop in spanish. It's a mix of many types of music styles. Dancehall, latin american music(like bachata and merengue), hip-hop, techno, reggae, and house.

Tell him to check out Jimmy barber. He might like that better. He is a spanish rapper, but less reggaeton-y than the other guys they sing alot & have nasally voices.. lol

no because I HATE reggaeton and I dont consider it hip hop at all I....and if it's "hip hop" in spanish then why do they call it REGGAEton it has no type of reggae in it... I think the music is rather annoying and alot of the artist that sing raggaeton suck... so I know where your friend is coming from, I live in San Antonio alot of hispanic and mexican people and they hate it just as much as I do. I dont understand what they are saying even when they are speaking english I dont understand...ITS ANNOYING MUSIC!!!!!

i like hip hop and rap but every reggaeton song to me sounds the same. it gets old after awhile. plus i have no idea what theyre saying

no not really the guys are basically rappin about nothin i hate reggaeton too it is the guys voice that is jus irritating and he suks i mean what the hell is his problem fusing rap with reggae hip hop is allready dying what do they want to do put it out of commission forever (im hispanic too)
