Negative 3 days before period?

Question

I have alot of pregnancy symptoms over the past week and a half ie cramping frequent urination etc, i couldnt help myself but did a test today 3 days before my period and it was negative,do you think it was too early? Or is it really a negative?

More than likely too early! Test again on your first day of your missed period. Every day you get closer to your missed period the stats go up if it will be detected. So wait till then. I know it will kill you but try to remain calm and centered! Just cause the symptoms are there doesn't mean it is so unfortunately. Hope you are though if you wish to be!

when you consider that most women struggle to get a positive preg test even sometimes a week after their missed period I think maybe expecting a result three days before was a little ambitious!!I definately dont believe that you can rely on that result. Even the tests that say they can detect pregnancy early are often giving out negatives and then a few days or a week later the women still has no period, does a test and hey presto...she pregnant!! I think you should wait and see whether or not your period comes hun. Goodluck and I have my fingers crossed for you x x x

It's still three days before your period, yet you've been having these symptoms for 1.5 weeks already? That's really, really early and likely related to something else going on, and not a pregnancy.

As for the test, even the early indicator style tests are only truly accurate after you have missed your period. Test again in 3-4 days if you still haven't gotten your period.

It was probably too early for home pregnancy test. Do it in few days time as the level of pregnancy hormone(beta Hcg) rises every 2-3 days. If you miss your period and the test says negative go and see your doctor, sometimes this tests are not that accurate. Good luck:-)

im thinking it was too early, my nmp is supposed to start sunday 7/29 and i am hoping it doesnt, wait until you have missed you period and then take one. i know it can be really hard, i am also one of those who like to test and then get depressed when we get a bfn for testing too early.. i am currently having cramping and i have been having sore bbs from ovulation. i also had cm a couple days after ovulation so i am hoping this is the month for me. i went and bought the book Taking Charge of Your Fertlilty yesterday, I am only done reading the first few chapters and this book is great, I found out so much stuff that my dh and i are doing wrong. i would suggest you go and pick you up a copy, im sure you will find it very informative.

Yeah, it could definately be too early, there might not be enough pregnancy hormones in your urine, even if it's one of these tests that say they can tell you 4 days before your period. I would definately try another test on the day your period is due x

Generally speaking, it is too early. Urine pregnancy tests are usually best used two weeks AFTER a missed period.
If you are on birth control, the cramping + lack of bleeding can be normal and not a sign of pregnancy. If you are on the pill, patch or ring, you won't always bleed.
If you don't want to wait the two weeks to be sure, i suggest going to your personal care physician and they can do more sensitive tests to find out immediately. (usually via blood draws)

could just be too early to detect your hcg levels,i didnt test pos till i was 2 weeks late with preg no 3 and 1 day late with preg no 4 ,so it really does depend on your levels,wait until you are late then test again,good luck

Depends on from the time you had sex to the time you tested. You should wait about a week to test if you did then your not.

its now 4 days since you posted question so did you get the period or are you preg or stillin limbo?
