Because the thing that always protected Harry was NOT as thought previously "love".. it was Sacrifice. He willingly sacrificed himself which essentially protected him while killing the part of Voldemort that was inside him.. (now, with how much his personality revolves around the connection between the two.. I'm curious to know if he remained essentially the same person later)

the wand thing was a bit rushed.. the wand was not valdemorts because he didn't kill for it.. it should have been Snapes, but because Dumbledore sacrificed himself (i.e.. Snape did not murder him.. ) it wasn't.. The wand chose Draco (as Draco was originally SUPPOSED to kill Dumbledore) .. and Harry bested Draco.. some of that seems a bit weird.. but that's how I remember it..

When Voldemort first tried to kill Harry as a baby, he inadvertently transferred a bit of himself into Harry. At the same time, a bit of Harry went into Voldemort. (This is why they had the mental connection with each other.) In a sense, each of them had become a horcrux for the other. Now we get to my speculation on why Harry could survive and Voldemort couldn't if they were both horcruxes.

When Voldemort killed Harry in book 7, what he actually did was kill the bit of himself in Harry. Harry was able to come back to life by taking back the bit of himself in Voldemort. Now, you might think that since they where horcruxes for each other, Harry killing Voldemort would also kill himself. But it must be remembered that Harry didn't kill anyone to put the bit of his soul into Voldemort--it was more like Voldemort stole a bit of Harry, thus that bit still belonged to him. Harry could draw upon it to bring himself back, and he could keep it after Voldemort died. Two other things made this possible, as well: 1. Harry had the capacity for love, and he made use of it by not using the killing curse on Voldemort and by sacrificing himself to save those he loved. 2. Harry did not actually take Voldemort's life. Voldemort's curse reversed upon himself and killed him.

As for the Elder wand. When Harry disarmed Malfoy at his home, the Elder wand (which has a sort of brain--like the sorting hat) sensed its master had been defeated, and though it wasn't the Elder wand that Harry took, the wand knew that Harry was its new master, so would only perform properly for him. That's why it backfired on Voldemort--it belonged to Harry.

harry comes back to life because voldemort killed the part of voldemorts soul the horcruxe that was in harry that was the creature on the floor when harry was with dumbledore but i guess harry sacrificed himself for everyone so he wasnt actually dead and voldemort was reborn by harrys blood with his mothers protection so he wasnt dead either and the elder wand was in voldemorts possesion after he killed snape but when harry used expelliarmis with dracos wand then it was his i think that was what happened anyway i really liked the book

Voldemort has the elder wand but isn't the master of it, harry is so the elder wand can't kill it's real master its confusing, you just have to read the last few chapters over

Jesus resurrects him and he then renounces his wizardry and becomes a born again Christian.
