Gay.
I don't care what his sexual preferences are. As a matter of fact, the less known on that subject, the better. However, I would like him to be an intelligent and rational person who isn't sucked into religious superstitions.
Even if you took off "Fundamentalist", I'd still choose gay over Christian. I'm a straight atheist.

Personally I'd rather have a gay child rather than a fundamentalist child regardless of religion. Fundamentalism of and kind isn't a good thing. It causes too much pain in this world.

Being a christian is not only preventable; if you are not forced or strongly persuaded to become a christian by your parents, either directly, or indirectly(by abuse/bad home environment), you do not become a fundamentalist christian. However, you are either born a homosexual or it develops from genes over time, neither of which give you any control. I do not plan to have children, but if I did and one were to grow into a gay person, I would love him or her just the same.

Child can be born gay but not fundamentalist christian...
He can become a fundamentalist later in his life and that is his choice. Being gay is not a choice.
I rather have a gay son.

I'm guessing that you don't have kids. You say that one is preventable (I'm guessing you mean Christian fundamentalist) and the other is not. Once you have kids, you'll find that they're their own people. They have their own personalities, their own temperaments, and their own ideas. (They're like people this way.) You can't control whether your child is going to be liberal or conservative, a Christian or Atheist, gay or straight. You shouldn't WANT to control these things.
I just hope my child grows up to be a kind, generous, open-minded person, whatever their political or religious beliefs.

I would have to go gay. Of course I would do anything in my power to prevent my child from being a close-minded fundamentalist, who only has one book on their shelf.

Its hard to say before bearing a child.. but, I'd raise my kid to be a normal and devoted christian.. its much easier than raising a gay child who might be too fragile to handle..

Sorry, but I don't believe that homosexuality isn't preventable. And people are not born gay. I believe you can prevent any of these things. Homosexuality, Christian fundamentalist. It is how you raise your child and the Bible has clear directions which work if we follow them.
