Since you don't want to let it go, get a large aquarium and make it a place to live. Put rocks, dirt, sticks, leaves, etc. in it for him to play on. Then go find out what kind of lizard it is so you can get the right food for it. But the best thing to do is let the lizard go free. It will take care of itself.

A tiny little hatchling yard lizard? And people really expect every pet store to have pinhead crickets? Look, that little lizard knows exactly where to go to find the kind of bugs or whatever that it wants to eat, doesn't have to deal with the stress of someone messing with it all the time, etc. It'll do a lot better in your yard than it will in a tank, and if it does get eaten, well, everybody needs to eat, that's life. Too bad, so sad, they'll make more lizards.

well, either keep it in a tank or let it go. it is natural for lizards to get eaten by other animals.... i'd probably let it go.

You don't need to save it from a life of freedom.
Lizards have been doing just fine for millions of years without needing humans to raise them.
