Washing Clothes With Just Water

I don't think that is considered washing them. In order to clean your clothes you need detergent sometimes bleach for whites or stain remover for others. without that your clothes will not be clean. Even if you say they are not really dirty. What about your body sweat. that will not come out with just water. and eventually you will have a build up of sweat then you will have a hard time removing/

You can, but they won't get clean.

Laundry detergent is a surfactant ~ it breaks water tension and pulls the grease and body oils away from the fabric. Without it, you may be able to rinse off surface dust, but not the grease & oils trapped in the fibers.

Yes you can, but to get them clean use you bar of soap you wash your body with and throw them in the washing machine with your clothes or towels or whatever it does work.. We used our hotel soap bars in washing hotel linens when we ran out of our buckets of detergent...

You can do that but the clothes won't be clean...that would be like throwing them in your shower and running water on them and letting them dry. Would you consider that clean?

maybe add some baking soda to the water if you don't want to use detergent. that will at least neutralize any potential odor.

Well yes you can, but they will not get that clean. The loose dirt and stuff will come off, but anything really in the material will only get in more.
