What are the chances of conception on day 9 of your cycle? Chances of conception on day 9 versus day 16? Could the sperm live inside the vagina until you are actually ovulating?

If you have fertile quality cervical mucus(like raw eggwhites) then sperm can live for up to 5 days but more like 2 is more typical. If you don't have fertile cervical mucus, creamy or lotiony or none, then the sperm will only live a matter of hours. Not every woman ovulates on day 14 of their cycle, some ovulate very early so day 9 would be just right for them. But if you normally ovulate on day 14 then the odds of leftover sperm from day 9 fertilizing the egg is very very unlikely.

Sperm lives on average three days. So, if you had sex on day nine...and ovulated seven days later. Chances are pretty slim that you conceived.

Good luck!

the best way is try to have sex every 2, 3 days if you can, to ensure fresh sperm is in you when you're ovulating.
