the immigration issue, is just a farce to acquire votes on both sides of the aisle. and NAFTA is the reason our government isn't concerned about it.

No. Illegal immigration is a problem because you have the richest country in the world bordering one of the poorest. Where would you want to live? If you could walk to something better - would you? The USA, along with implementing border security, must utilize economic carrots and sticks with Mexico. Once Mexicans have access to financial resources in Mexico they won't come here.

Immigration legislation was set up to increase Democratic voters and failed because this was so apparent. They would have had a better chance of passage if they could have kept Ted Kennedy's mouth shut. although the basic flaws would still have been there.
