Hey...I live in Virginia too. Honestly I don't think it's really that hard at all in VA. I mean there's gotta be an agency around where you live somewhere. I live in Northern VA, so I have D.C. Anyways for some stupid reason skinny is in, now I'm not sure what your body type is but just go for it!! I'm not skinny either, just look at Nikki Blonsky form Hairspray!! She's not all skinny, she weighs more than me. As long as your happy with yourself and be yourself that's all that really matters.
If you want to become famous then well...maybe you should take a second thought. If you do make it to the top and something ends up happening to ya...your gonna be crushed. Do it because you want to, it's your passion. In my case I wanna be an actress/singer too but I don't want to do it for fame, money, or anything like that. Money ,honestly, is the last thing I think about, hardly do I even think about it. Peserverance and determination are a couple of the key traits you need to have to make it in show biz.
If you need any guidance in your career check out this website:
www.actingbiz.com
I highly recommend that site for all aspiring actors, young and old!!
Anyways...good Luck with your career tho! I wish you the best! Since you and I both want to be famous maybe I'll see ya in L.A. hopefully ^^
Follow your dreams girl!!

Don't aim for celebrity. The majority of them appear to have lost their passion for what they do, and work for awards a free clothes, if they ever had the real drive to act or sing in the first place. So many people are famous for absolutely nothing and are a complete waste (e.g. Paris Hilton). If you love singing and acting REALLY, then don't measure your talent based on whether or not you are FAMOUS. Most incredibly talented artists rarely receive the fame and recognition they actually deserve, but enrich their communities immensely. I would suggest going to college and really studying the craft. You can make a living of performing, but don't expect more than about 20,000.00 a year. Do it because you love it and cannot think of doing anything else! That is a good enough reason to do it! Good luck.

You have to want to act and sing. If you really care about it you will do it even if there is little or no money involved. Most artists have to work other jobs. The chances of an actor or singer becoming famous are so remote that it's safe to say you won't ever get there. No matter how bad you want it or how hard you try. The ONLY way to get there is to have a true passion for your art. If that is missing you have absolutely no chance. You can be an actress and singer if you want to. Becoming famous is a fantasy.

First of all I don't know what a celebretie is but if you mean celebrity (with a y) then you are trying to become famous for all the wrong reasons. You become a famous actor/singer because you have passion for the arts not greed of money and fame. I would reconsider my priorities if I were you.

Well,if you hearts not really in the whole singing acting thing, then things might not work out.You shouldnt just wanna be that stuff for the fame and fortune! If thats what its all about, then you can forget it.I wanna be the same thing, but its not cuz of the fame and fortune, its cuz i like to entertain people and love to act!So is that your goal in life to be famous?or to do what you love to do?Think about it!

if u dont think u can then u cant. if u dont believe u cant do it, there is no way. it doesnt matter where u live. ppl from the middle of nowhere (NE) become stars. it doesnt matter wut u look like becuz if u hav wut the producers r looking for then they will take it. if u hav a voice or if u can act, the look will not matter....it eventually will possibly but at first it wont.
