"Moral paralysis" is a term that has been used to describe the inaction of France, England and other European democracies in the 1930s, as they watched Hitler build up the military forces that he later used to attack them.

It is a term that may be painfully relevant to our own times.

With the advocation of things like abortion and gay marriage, Ive never thought otherwise of them. It all stems from a fundamental refusal of Gods authority and trying to take it for themselves. They think it is they that should decide who is worth living and who isnt.

Wow! That's a great concept. I think you've hit it!

Democrats aren't anti-United States (most of them, just like most of the Republicans are patriots, 77% of citizens in a recent poll stated they were VERY proud of their country, which put us ahead of every nation in the poll).

We love our country, but some of us (myself not included) are trapped between the very sane idea of "War is a terrible thing" (true) and "should be avoided at all costs" (true in the sense that SOMEONE in the country should oppose it to act as brakes on those who WANT IT NOW!, false in the sense that there are people who want us dead and destroyed, and will keep trying to kill us until we stop them or die).

We all serve a function. Some of the Democrats fighting this war serve that function of brakes, and do our country good by keeping our eyes on what is important to keep our standing in our own eyes (hopefully in the world as well, but our own responsibility is first to ourselves). Respect that.

Then there are those caught and feeling trapped. They aren't stupid (most of us, on either side). They know that there are people out there that want us dead. They also hope there is some other solution, that President Bush rushed to a military solution (I disagree, myself).

Their attitude is fairly reasonable in light of what I know as a man whose family fled Islam in the 1950s.

Most people have no idea what Islam wants or is attempting to do, so the Democrat view looks saner and more correct based on what the U.S.A. has been exposed to.

However, the Republicans seem just as ignorant of the real situation in Islam, and I am grateful our government seems to be as well-informed as it is, and has taken action accordingly.

Thank you for the excellent concept, whose application here is most definitely apt.

I love how people can support a war that has cost 3600 American lives and by the President's own admission has made the terrorists stronger, and then insult the people who oppose the war because it is not working. Come up with a plan that actually works and I would be happy to support it. Right now our soldeirs are targets in the middle of a civil war

Wrong, we support the actions in Afghanistan and we support following the suggestions of the 911 commission.. we don't support invading a nation that has never attacked us, overthrowing their government against the advisement of those who knew better, not producing a viable exit strategy then wondering why people don't support further action.. as Bush has done.

I am a strong believer in Human rights. As most Liberals are. Cons are more concerned with profits than humanity. You call that moral?

Yes, by its very nature, liberalism is amoral. It seeks not to judge right or wrong, but to simply "understand" everything and "tolerate" and "respect" everything, no matter how repugnant or marginal it may be to most right-thinking people.

Liberals are also intellectually paralyzed. They are stuck in puberty mode, still so immature they think government can solved problems by forcing people to do what they want. Their whole wealth redistribution agenda has been a proven failure, but they are fervently promoting their Marxist agenda.
