You know the old saying, your damned if you, and your damned if you don't.

Given the way that current immigration laws are enforced, a border fence will do little to nothing to stop, or even hinder illegal immigration. The northern and southern borders are not the only points of entry for illegal immigrants. Why not spend the money it would take to build a useless fence to strengthen border enforcement?

Any fence would get in he way of the long term agenda. That is why immigration reform is so unattainable. The American dollar will be the Amero (similar to the Euro). It will be shared by America, Canada, and Mexico. The super highway from southern Mexico to Northern Canada is still under construction. Politicians and lobbyist are buying land that it will eventually run through here in America. Our economy will have to absorb the poor peso and withstand the onslaught of the left wing ideology of Canada. This link has a theatrical begining yet it get's serious briefly into it.

There's also a problem with water and grazing rights for ranchers located along the border. By erecting this wall, we will effectively be killing the cattle operations located along the border. I've heard of a few boater's wanting the waterways to remain open but have yet to hear of a national conservation effort.

I actually agree with them on this one (even as a dem, that didn't hurt too bad). It's a waste of time and money.. I can't keep a pet fenced in without them finding a way out.. you cant' tell me a sentient human can't figure out how to best a fence.
Edit: I read conservation as conservative. My bad. As far as conservation to my knowledge there is no endangered species or ecosystem that will be destroyed by the building of the fence. I still don't think it's necessary.. but conservation isn't my reason against it.

I can see the argument for a border fence, but I dont know if a border fence reflects the American spirit.

that stupid border fence has more to do with providing yet more no bid contracts to Bush admin corporate cronies than it has to do with security. 9/11 sure has been profitable for some folks. it's the gift that keeps on giving ... American tax dollars to the likes of Halliburton and Kellogg, Brown and Root.

Enough already. Put it up.
Democrat vote here for a fence, first, other actions later.
