If someone jokingly says they have a gun, normally security would have them in custody in seconds. Yet there were no arrests in these cases. Could the plants be put there to try and justify the excessive security or for that matter the very existance of " Homeland Security"? It seems to me like it may be a feeble attempt to keep Americans on edge and also to impress them of how vigilent the "government" agencies are. They are supposed to know who tried to put the devices on the planes,( a couple were in "carry on" luggage." "Methinks, there is something rotten in the state of Denmark" or whichever states they were found in.

I agree with the idea that they were testing the system, what I question is why they reported it as a possible "dress rehearsal" by terrorists. Had they just stated that it was a test, they could have won a few "brownie points" . The way they announced it, in my opinion, they wanted to build hype in the American people and subsequently ended up insulting the intelligence of the very people they wanted to intimidate.

Obviously "the gubmint" , like the government has lost touch with reality.
Everyone else seems to be reading the same book, if not the same chapter.

I have always thought that.

I always wondered why the alleged terrorists leave such obvious evidence in route to planting bombs that make it easy to get caught BEforehand.

I really think that the government knows that anyone can be a terrorist and theat they cannot stop them. They have to be able to say two things

1. We did everything we could to stop it.
2. We stopped a whole bunch of other attempts.

Security is an illusion. It is so easy to make a bomb, rent a truck and drive into the airport and detonate. The fact that there is an officer on duty won't stop me if I was a terrorist.

In Boston, they blocked the main post office building with blue wooden barricades and put a no parking sign. As if that would stop a terrorists

You know, you guys all whined after 9/11 because the government didn't publicize all the threats and alerts that were generated as a matter of course when dealing in a world where there is no shortage of terrorists.

Now they do, and you guys are all whining about the government trying to scare everyone.

Which is it? Either you want to know, or you don't. Make up your frigging minds.

TSA is probably doing some sort of quality assesment. They rarely know the levels of effectiveness of any one of their airport operations. Maybe they are simply testing their competency and druming up a bit of good 'ol fashion panic at the same time.

hello,,I think they were just testing the security system to see if they had their level of screening up to par. This whole lifestyle is going to create a lot of freaky people at the airport just trying to outdo the program ,most of these captures are just for the media , someone has got to clean this up.smells kinda rotten to you too?
