I live in Dallas and my son is a HUGE Dallas cowboys fan. he eats, sleeps and talks about them all the time. He knows every player, stats, years, college they attended and what teams they used to play for. He is 10 years old and I am trying to set up where he can meet one and get a signed football and picture before the pre season starts.

Thanks

Patrick-

I would keep in tune to whatever radio station that the Cowboys do their game broadcasts on. Listen to that station when the sports shows are on, and the host will likely tell you, you can meet TE Jason Whitten at this particular grocery store in this particular suburb from 12 to 4.

If you can't score any autographs during the pre-season I know Ravens players will do autograph sessions during the regular season. I'm sure it's the same with Cowboys players.

If you catch the players in an individual autograph session, the players may have more time to talk to your son one on one too than in a pre-season session where everyone is swarming for their autograph.

I would also tell your son to to me intimidated by the players, to just talk to them. Having worked in a grocery store that was close to the old Ravens training camp, I've met several of the players and a few of the coaches (including hall of fame potential kicker Matt Stover who was born in Dallas). Most of them are very down to earth and as a result leave a good impression on the fans.

Does he get the "Dallas Cowboys Star" (formerly Dallas Cowboys Weekly) magazine? If he does, look in there - I get it and sometimes it says where you can meet the players. Or why don't you try to go to their training camp - I know it is probably out of your way to go that far cuz their training camp is in California, but maybe make it a "father & son" trip to see the BOYS!!!
Tell your son he is doing a GREAT job of being a Cowboys fan!! I've loved the cowboys since I was 7 years old and I am 19 now and even I don't know every players name! ;(
GO COWBOYS!!

Your best bet is to go to SA for their training camp. But living in Dallas you should be able to meet some of them somewhere, I mean dont they usually do some kind of charity work or visits to businesses and stuff. I know an eye doctor here in South Texas usually brings one down every so often. Maybe you can call the main office for the Cowboys to see if there is anything you can do.

check around some local places...they usually do meet and greet sessions...you can sometimes find these at a memorabilia place, some car dealerships have pros come there to boost business, etc. You just have to check around but most pros do things like these where they go to a store or business, meet some fans, and sit there and sign autographs for like an hour session. Good luck...hope you and your son get to meet one.

check out the official dallas cowboys fan site forum, someone there might have the heads up on appearances and/or ways to meet players
