My school used to have a lot of spirit days when I was in grade 6. They had teddy bear day, different colour days (I remember them having blue and yellow both at different times), twin day, play day! But my favourite one was when they had reading week. Every day, the "reading bell" would go off, and we'd have to drop whatever we were doing and read for 2 hours straight.

Everyone was so mean to me the last few years of grade school... They would write love notes to the teachers and sign my name to it, and then leave it on the teachers desks... They spread a rumor that I would try to fondle the girls in the locker room while we changed for gym class... By the time I graduated I had zero friends there. So my best memories are: in 6th grade, I won an art contest that involved several schools, and everyone was jealous... and in 8th grade, I won a contest that I didn't even know was taking place... Every time we did a certain task, we would get points, and I had the highest number of points in the whole school. I won $50 for it... I still think of all the angry, jealous looks on those jerks' faces and it makes me smile.

In elementary school, 3rd and 4th grades, I remember after lunch the teachers would read chapters from a book and stop and leave us hangin' to what would happen next. They were always great children stories. I even remember some of the titles---Danny Dunn and the Homework Machine, Jimmy Microbe....

Fourth grade! I had some of the greatest friends that year. Then I moved away at the end. I wonder if they remember me as much as I remember them. We haven't seen each other for almost 20 years!

Well, 5th grade was the beginning of middle school at my first middle school, and 6th grade at my 2nd, so my favorite memory from grades K-4 was annoying middle schoolers on the bus with my friend. lol jk. My favorite memory was having pizza parties... and read-ins... and recess... and "Fun Fridays" in fourth grade... everything was wonderful before 5th grade.
