I am pretty sure Vick played a part in the dog fighting, but Im positive he did not do it for his own personal gain. I think it was a way for him to allow his friends to make money. I look at the situation as like "Entourage", Vick is the star and he wants his friends to share his lifestyle so dogfighting gave them all something they could do and all be productive in making big money.

Michael Vick is/was the most marketable player in the NFL, its a shame if the NFL tries to get rid of him.

P.S. you're my boy Vick

Your a joke and obviously haven't seen any footage on the news depicting dog fighting. Yes, what Vick did was wrong and immoral. He has never and will never be, what so many ignorant people, have blown him up to be. He is an egotistical dirt bag, that will, hopefuly, get what he deserves.

Michael Vick was not the most marketable player, Tom Brady/Peyton Manning/Brett Favre and LT are the most marketable.

Heck, most would consider Vick an average QB. If he wanted to help his "entourage" make money, how about giving them $250K each to invest in the stock market! At least you learn something that way.

A proper punishment for Vick and his crew would be to put them in an enclosure with some pit bulls.

If Vick really wanted to be benevolent and help out some of his less advantaged family and friends, he would have set them up in a legitimate business - there are a lot of options to choose from. So yes, he was wrong. By the way, he has just opened a restaurant in Atlanta - I wonder if Pit Bull steaks (gently fried or marinated in deep water) are on the menu.

The basic disgust that is universally felt among most Americans about forcing animals to fight is deeply held. That's why Americans have outlawed male chicken (dern censors) fights, bull fights, bear baiting.

However you feel, Vick is toast. He has tossed away millions of bucks because of his involvement in this sorry affair. Tough luck, Vick, because no matter how much people will try to justify this, you are history. As well you should be.

According to Virginia and federal law it is wrong and those are the people he will have to deal with in this matter. I'm a Falcon fan who has watched him lose games by dropping the ball constantly. I want wins and Mike Vick has gone 15-18 in his last 33 starts, hardly a winner for the salary they are paying him. He is a thug plain and simple. Atlanta fans would probably be more likely to forgive him if he had led them to the Super Bowl. but they haven't even made the playoffs the last 2 years--far from it. He can rot in jail for all I care.

Michael Vick is another example of you can take the person out of the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the person. I think Vick should be punished to the maximum extent of the law. I think we need to set an example here to show athletes that they are not anyone special and that because they are OVER paid for playing games they do not get any special treatment.

What the shame is , is that someone with the talents that Michael and his brother have and they need to blow the opportunity by doing stupid, ignorant things. Vick did this because he thinks he is God and that nothing will touch him. If what you say that Vick just wanted to share his lifestyle with his friends, throw a party, donate to them, anything except breaking the law.

Personally, I HATE dogs, pets, etc. But what he's being convicted of is participating in an illegal dog fighting ring. The key word being ILLEGAL. Have you ever seen what it takes just to prepare a dog for fighting. Steroid shots, brutal workouts, sometimes even starving dog a day before fights. Not to mention the stray dogs they find to let the dogs PRACTICE on. On behalf of most dog haters, I'd say Vick is in the wrong here.
