if a beta particle is emitted, then
-1 neutron,+1 proton(and +1 electron which is emitted)
this will make 2 protons and1 neutron.
the atomic number will be 2 and the mass will be 2protons+1neutron=3
hence the isotope formed is Helium-3.

the net result for beta emitter is with the same mass number.
number of proton increases by 1, number of neutron decreases by 1.

hydrogen: atomic number = 1
resulting isotope: 1 + 1 = 2, that's Helium

same mass number, that's 3. So, the answer is 3He.

The proton number goes up by one, but the mass number stays the same. 3He is formed.
