I don't think they are that exciting and not very good lyrically. Is it just me??? Or is Southern Rap really overrated??

i dont think alot of them are good lyrically....even Pimp C (a member of UGK) said the southern artitsts today dont have any conscious topics in their songs...he recently called out people like young jeezy, and all these people makin crunk music and not given credit to 3-6 mafia....i like the old south; with scarface- the geto boys, outkast, ugk, all these new cats are makin them look bad.

HATER ALERT, The South is the only thing popping right now, Yeah don't get me wrong but some of these Southern artist have no lyrical talent at all ( DJ Unk, Soulja Boy, Crime Mob etc.... but look at Chamillionaire, Lil Wayne...( F. U Cham & Weezy haters) Dont go by just what you hear on the radio thats mostly radio friendly mainstream shiit..
The Southern Mixtape Game is crazy right now...
Dont be mad because the Eastcoast Rap Game felll off the map with the towers, and all the Westcoast got is the little lonely GAME...

Southern rap DOES consist of more than simplistic lyrics with repeating beat patterns you know? I mean, there ARE plenty of quality southern artists. Just because they don't get any spins on the radio or BET doesn't mean they don't exist. If you're only gonna look at the surface, don't judge it as a whole.

Andre 3000 and Scarface are boring? Southern Rap as a whole is overrated, with the snap and crunk music. I don't really like Luda anymore (he needs to make more music like "War With God") but I wouldn't say he is boring. He isn't lyrical though.

it depends, if your listening to the sh*t on the radio...yeah...but it's all like that...all the good stuff isn't commercial...but quick question....how many non- southern rappers are there??? i cant realli think of that many, that are active...
