pretty doubtful, because it would mean that he isn't eligible to play. I'm very sure that they'd have some sort of clause in the contract in the event he gets injured or in trouble outside of team activities.

The answer to that question is written into his contract where I am sure there is a clause that voids the contract for pursuing actions that are detrimental to the team.
Especially if they violate the team's conduct policy.
As far as giving him the contract in the first place, Vick is a decent quarterback who is not only the face of the Falcons franchise but is one of the major faces of the NFL. The contract amount would then be based on a risk vs reward system... The risk being Vick and his personality and off field actions with the reward being putting fans in the seats.
Two things the falcons can do to replace him...either use a QB they already have in the system which in this case is Joey Harrington or put Vick on the Disabled or Unable to perform list and sign a free agent or make a trade. (Daunte Culpepper has been sighted in Atlanta recently)
I'm sure Arthur Blank is kicking himself already for getting rid of Matt Shaub...who in my opinion was a better NFL QB than Vick ever will be and the Texans got a huge steal when trading for him.

1. No, he will forfeit his contract until he returns... IF he returns.
2. Vick has been with them a number of years and has given them little trouble. So there really was no reason to think he would resort to something like this. That is why they took such a gamble. Plus, his talent upside was phenomenal, even if he never quite lived up to it.
3. The Falcons have Joey Harrington to replace him if necessary. Harrington is not going to get them into the playoffs, but he'll do alright for the year, and they can get someone next year to replace Vick if necessary.

The way I read it he has already gotten a huge lump of money. Frankly i think he should have to pay it back. he is a Huge waste of time and effort. so he can play ball does this give him the right to do as he pleases? he has shown what he thinks of fans in the past he shows what he thinks of animals. So who does he care about HIM no one else but HIM
frankly i hope they do make a case and throw the book at him. After working with Bully breeds and having to see Great dogs put down daily due to the abuse they received from people like Vick I hope he gets all that and then some. They should make him donate those funds to a place like Spindle-Top and Bad Rap and the many other great Pit Bull rescue places around the US.
I have to wonder though If he was doing this for that length of time. How many other team mates attended those fights? How many knew what was going on and stayed quiet?

$37 million of his contract is guaranteed. He will receive that, minus any money the Falcons are able to reclaim. But the contract is generally set up so that Vick will keep most of the money. I believe he's already been paid about $22 million of it.
If he goes to jail, they'll have to replace him via the draft, or a low-rent free agent backup.
And the Falcons believed he was worth the risk, as did most people.

That what the consquences of what Vick is doing. Falcons has to terminate his contract and that will hit the team cap penalty and cap room big time. replacing him, thats the GM job to find talent at every position even if that superstar in one position left the team for any reasons.

No, Vick would not get paid. He lied to the owner and said he would change his image and lead the team. Vicks been lying to a lot of people a long time, hope he saved some of that money, i think his salad days are over, unless he goes to jail in which case they just start

i think, not sure, if the falcons release him under contract, vick would not get the full 130 million dollars, but the falcons would pay a penalty fee for violating the contract. it might be different though as he might be going to prison for a while.

He gets NOTHING. The NFL has Pay or Play contracts so to speak. It ISN'T Baseball where you get the money no matter what. That is why the players go after large Signing Bonuses. That is the only money they are guaranteed.
