Schaub has been a backup to Michael Vick in Atlanta. He has a great arm and he is smart. He played behind a bad line in Atlanta. In my opinion, Schaub will be a superstar in 2 to 3 years. Jim Mora was forced to play Vick because Blank went braid dead and signed Vick to 10X what he was worth. As an Atlanta fan, I am sad to see him go. I think he's better than Harrington.

A new offensive line is the answer at quarterback for the Texans. I think Carr is a better qb than Schaub because Schaub is very unproven, and his natural abilities are not that great. Schaub is not as athletic as Carr, nor does he have as big of an arm, but he is smarter with the football, and since he hasn't been running for his life for 5 years, he will do a little better this year than Carr would have. The Texans have a couple of studs scattered around at defense, and if the Texans get a line, a runningback who isn't old, injury prone, or terrible, and another receiver, they could put together a playoff team in a few years.

I think the Texans will be better this year but of course they can only get better really. I think Schaub will be a competent qb with decent numbers. I think it will take a couple of years for the Texans to get to the playoffs if they make the right decisions however that has been a real problem the last couple of years. You need to fire your GM ....first for not taking Reggie Bush, secondly for not taking a Quarterback in a quarterback rich draft then dumping Carr the very next year and having to trade for a backup .....no plan

He's only started 2 games in his entire career, and usually just plays mop up at the end of a game. I don't know hoe anybody can tell you he's really good or really bad based on that. He didn't win either of his starts, so take what you want out of that. He does have a rather measly 69.2 passer rating - and most of his passes are thrown against 2nd team defenders. So that doesn't look that good to me. People that said he's mobile obviously haven't seen him play. He's slow and has trouble avoiding a pass rush - so watch out. He's got an accurate arm but not too incredibly strong. From what I've seen he still has some trouble reading defenses, but I think thats a product of a bad QB coach in Atlanta. That's definitely something that can be straightened out with a little work. The fact is until the Texans get an o-line thats any good, no QB is going to be effective there.

Probably not. Schaub hasn't played much so we really don't know how he will do as a full time starter.
That said the answer for improving the Texans is getting a whole new OL. They are horrible. Every single one of them and I'm not sure anyone could do better as QB of that team unless that changes.

I think Matt Schaub is a very good QB. The Texans have decent running backs and Andre Johnson as a WR is good. However, as far as the playoffs go, it will the offensive line that will determine how far they go. Right now, their line is weak and this makes the running and passing game look bad. Offensive lines take time to develop.

schaub is a good QB mobile but not a scrambler and has a decent arm can make accurate passes and makes good decisions, as far as the answer to the Texans prayers no. he is a decent piece to a building but that is just it a piece. Texans need to work on their o-line, that is that and their running game is unstable, Ron dayne is a good back up that's it and with Domenic Davis coming off an injury your not sure what your going to get when he comes back.

I don't think he is the answer for the Texans. The team's offensive line is the problem that needs to be addressed on offense. Even the best QB can't make things happen as often as liked, if he is forced to hurry a pass more than he would like. If the team's O-line can show some improvement, then you can best believe they will be on a path for a brighter future.

alot of people bashed david carr but honestly he never had a chance when your getting hit as much as he did nobody could be sucessful so i guess the question is can the texans block better for schaub than they did for carr.... i dont really see that the texans did a whole lot to improve that part of their team so i think its gonna ber a tough season for schaub 8-8 is possible for them

Carr should have been the man, but the Texans couldnt get him a o-line to protect him. Schaub will suffer the same fate until this is done.
