I don't have to 'wait' because I've got mine ... but I have been married before, and had several 'long relationships' and have four kids and two grandkids (so far) ... but my husband now is my 'one and only one' and I didn't meet him until I was 46 ... he was 39. We are Catholics (converted) so the church has 'annulled' the previous relationships, and THIS it the 'ONLY TRUE MARRIAGE' I have ever had.
The thing about him is this: that if I had done ANYTHING differently in my life, I would NOT have met my husband ... so I think he's a REWARD from God for having made many mistakes but continually trying to 'get better' both spiritually and in reality. We've now been married for 10+ years, and are actually 'closer' than we were when we first got married ... we are DEFINITELY 'together forever and beyond' ...

Hello. It´s an interesting question. Let me tell you about my case. For reasons that do not fall into this tale I chose exile and went to live from my home country Guatemala to Costa Rica. The city I am from was in a great division of opinions about me at the time I left. I saw friends of mine abandon my side and I also saw complete strangers support me. In the end the mayor of the city helped me change my ID 4 times in a row so it would be very difficult to trace me.
There was a girl in the middle of the wrong side that I really cared about. A dear friend of mine that is in a family that learned to despise me because of the conflict. This girl did something very impressive. She continued believing in me regardless of what her family told her. When I found out about this it was really important for me. It meant a ñpt that even hearing all this nasty stuff about me she chose to believe in me.
This caused me to take more and more notice of her until I fell in love with her. Last time I saw her was last October. It is not easy, but I am not idle. I am writing a book. A novel of a Love story that explains how I feel for her.
If you wait and do nothing except wait you will waste precious time.
If you do something about it you will not lose your ability to express what you feel. On the contrary. You will be able to express your feelings better.
I say don't just sit there and wait. DO something! I'm sure you have some ability. Learn to make cakes, learn to paint, express yourself anything but do something taht you can have for the person when the time comes for the person to come to you and when that person comes you will be able to show all your patience for.
In the case that that person never comes to you youwill not have wasted your time but you will have increased your value as a person to put you love and dedication in somebody that DOES deserve your qualities as a human being.
Remember Luck Favors the Prepared
If I wait for a girl all dressed up and fancy looking it will have a different impression than if I meet her in flip-flops.
It´s the same case but applied to your abilities and your value as a person. This will give you something to soothe the lonely feeling of not having the person with you and will make you feel like you are investing in the person you love.
The love story is great it's about a guy who can go into the dreams of the girl so he does in dreams everything for her that he cannot do in real life. (which is my case).
Some other day I'll tell you more about it.

As long as I'd have to. Right now, I'm waiting two weeks and it seems like forever. My boyfriend is in California visiting his family and I've still got 13 days to go before he comes home.
It seems like an eternity before I'll see him again. :-(

Well, now that is the question isn't it. So if you didn't believe you lived forever. If you believed there is NOTHING after this life. Would you wait all of it for someone who doesn't care enough about you to be with you?
My answer is you never wait for the one you love. That means they do now love you back. And who needs to put themselves in that position unless the have a fetish for ruining their own life. have fun waiting, Im dating.

No specific time how long you will wait for the one you love. Love comes to unexpected places and time. So just wait until the one you love will come to you. You will know that he / she is the one that you love because you will feel it in your heart.

Well...if I knew that we were gonna be together in future I wouldn´t mind waiting a long time..but if I knew that there is no chance for us..I would move on..I don´t want to be alone and not enjoy love ...

Depends on where I'm waiting, and why.
If I'm waiting for them outside the change room while they try on dresses, the limit's about ten minutes, and then I'm off to check out the electronics department.
If I'm waiting for them at the bar, then I'll happily wait all night if need be.
