So is Hillary a Democrat, a Liberal, or a Progressive?

If she is Democrat, why doesn't she act like one?
If she's Liberal, why is she running away from that term and calling herself a Progressive?

Does she really know what she stands for at all?
If she isn't a Democrat, why doesn't she start a new party and leave the REAL democrats alone?

HILLARY CLINTON IS A COMMUNIST!! She believes that taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor is the way to be. Eventhough, that failed miserably in Russia. People need something to strive for and to fight for. I would love to be rich but I do not want to take from those who are. I would prefer to earn it. Pure and simple, Hillary is actually a wolf in sheeps clothing. She likes to parade around on the democratic ticket because it may get her elected. She rides on the coat tails of her husband's charisma and popularity. That is the only reason why that woman suffered through the humiliation of her husbands infidelity. She did not stand by her man, she chose his political security. She is convincing to most that she cares about you and your family. She is not just a progressive, she is a liberal in every since of the term. But because liberalism evokes thoughts of socialists and communists, she tries to steer away from that. Her plans to take over the health care system and to take away profits from big oil to provide to those "in need" is an example of her communist ways. People forget that during her earlier days she spent a lot of time in communist Russia and studied their way of life. She even protested against her own country while on foreign soil. She is very shrewd and knows how to manipulate the thoughts of people to make them think that she "cares". Thus, her belief that it takes a village to raise a child. NO! It takes parents who are responsible and care about their children to raise a child! Though I am not fond of paying almost $3 for a gallon of gas, I do not believe that taking the profits from the oil companies is a way of providing health care to those in need. Stopping the price gouging that is disguised as money needed to repair refineries and so forth should be stopped. We all know that the billions in profits that the oil companies are making are because they are lying to the American people and since when does the price of a gallon of gas get determined by the way oil sells on the stock market? Anyways, back to Hillary, she preys on the sense that we all want more out of life and she is trying to convince everyone that the government knows better. She thinks that the government can raise our children better, she thinks that the government (Hillary if president) has all the wisdom to make everything better and that we are just poor stupid folk who are too ignorant to decide for ourselves. Hillary is a wicked, evil, vial woman who wants all of the control to tell us how to live our lives. She is in the purest sense a communist! I believe that if she were elected President, our lives, freedoms, and choices as we know it would come to an end!

Because making an extravagant campaign commercial and calling it a "film" doesn't make it a film. If it's intended to influence a current election, then it falls under election regulations. This is simply the closing of a loophole. No one is trying to prevent the release of such a movie, per se - they can release the movie if it falls within spending, disclosure and reporting regulations for elections. The movie you refer to didn't fit that criteria, as it tried to sneak by outside of the law, at that time. The Citizens United ruling went against established precedent and also ruled outside of the legal issues at question. For all the complaining conservatives love to do about "radical activist" jurists with no respect for the Constitution and precedent, you guys sure seem to embrace those same jurists and rulings when it favors your candidates. The concept that corporations have free speech rights like actual people and that money is speech is simply absurd. This ruling will eventually be overturned, or there will be a Constitutional Amendment to restore sanity.

This is an argument over the meaning of words, and what they have come to mean.

Liberal and progressive can mean the same thing, but they can also have different connotations.

But don't we all know that Hillary is to the right of Barack Obama and John Edwards? And don't we also all know that she's to the left of most, if not all, of the Republicans?

And, you know, if you're concerned about who the next president will be, shouldn't you be asking questions about the Republican candidates? In theory, they have a fifty/fifty shot of getting in.

Many democrats and liberals who are fed up with the system have started calling themselves progressives in order to more accurately describe what they stand for in a new political atmosphere. I suspect she is calling herself a progressive in order to garner the votes of progressives, which is a group of people larger than democrats or republicans alone. It is a wise move.

I think the term "liberal" has gotten a negative conotation of late. The term brings images of bleeding hearts with no common sense. I don't think this is the case. I concider myself Liberal, but i sure don't use that term too often in conversation. Not all liberals are lunatics.
