I was jet lagged for days after recently getting back from Paris. Frankly, I just gave in to it. If you can laze around for a few days, got for it. It's not a crime. If you really want to get up, start blasting some music and let lots of light into your bedroom. The days are so gorgeous this time of year you'll be tempted to go outside.

It all starts with breathing. Control your breathing and take real deep breaths in and out. Tell yourself that nothing about the past will keep you from doing what you want to do today. Then do something fun without spending money. Walk a neighbors dog, spend time with a kid, go fishing.
Once you take that first step.... Dont stop.
I was exactly in your shoes after returning from Iraq. Nothing could take away the images that I had seen. But thinking about them all the time made me not want to live... at all. So I stayed in bed.

well now they say we don't get enough sleep, and that we will have a healthier heart if we take a afternoon nap? So pull the covers up and go back to sleep, your not lazy, your smart.

I don't mind if you stay in the bed, but I am going to put shaving cream in your hand, then tickle your nose. You will go to scratch your nose, get shaving cream all over your face...and I am going to point and laugh... That will surely wake you up.
