After my test, they told me to have sex that night. They said sometimes there is a small dead cell blocking the tubes which the dye flushes and becoming pregnant could be easier at that point. (I was ovulating that week too though).

Probably not, if your period has stopped when you have the hsg done and you are not close to ovulation then the cervix will be tightly closed. This is typical. Once you get close to ovulation the cervix will open slightly. And yes, you can definantly TTC this cycle. For about 4-6 cycles after the HSG you have an increased chance of getting pregnant.

most women are different. when i had my hsg, i had to start doing the ovulation test kits to see when i was ovulating. Since I was having an IUI, after my HSG, two days later I started using the test kits, a week after my HSG was when i was ovulating and they did blood work to double check. I had my IUI that day and am currently 21 weeks... If they thought it would be an issue with why you haven't conceived, they should have said something.
