OMG yes. I've cleaned it out several times in my life but it never lasts. It's ashame cause it could be a nice space if I would just keep it up. I need to get rid of stuff.

The 'junk' drawer was always a special place in our house when I was growing up. It was in the kitchen and Mom would tell you to check it when you were looking for string, tape, scissors, a pencil, an oddball business card, a nail or screw, a screwdriver, or anything small enough to shove in there when you were too lazy to put it where it belonged. I know about the junky closet -- that was called 'Fibber McGee's' closet when I was growing up -- it was the closet that when you open the door, you could get beaned by stuff falling on you if you weren't careful! That one happened over time and that was a 'project' for a rainy Saturday a couple or three times per year--it was fun to find things that had disappeared! I can remember re-purchasing things rather than trying to find it in that mess! Funny, but our house always looked great when you walked in -- but behind that one closet door!!! Thankfully, things like California Closet systems have helped to make my home junky closet free!

Most of the time it's pretty junky, but sometimes I get little "cleaning splurges" and I'll clean everything...it usually only stays clean for a few days..I have a habit of just tossing the clothes in there instead of putting them in the hamper...even though the hamper is in the closet :)

TOTALLY! I tried to clean it up about a month ago and now it looks worse then when i started! Mines full of mostly little broken suveniers i got when i said to myself "O what a cute little keychain!" or old stuffed animals my dog has attempted to chew up and least 20 times. Or clothes that are way too small for me so they just lay on the floor, sad and unstylish. *sniff sniff* LOL! Most of the closets in my house are like that. 4 of them. We always keep the old cruddy stuff as "keepsakes but never really care about them. LOL

Yes, it's supposed to be our coat closet, but it gets everything that we don't have anything else to do with! Blankets, board games, extra clothes, coats, heating blanket, boxes of pictures, etc. I sort it occasionally, but it's just a mess in a few days.

i have, in the past, had junky closets, but i refuse to do that anymore.
luckily, my husband and i keep on top of it and we will clean things out every few months and pitch the junk or buy organizers if we need to store things.

we're military, though, so we are very streamlined b/c we move alot.

I have one where I put all the gifts people give me that I don't really like, but I feel guilty about getting rid of because I love the people who gave me the gifts. Every birthday/christmas it gets stuffed fuller.

I should just make a trip to the salvation army with it all.

i always have a messy closet. i try and clean it, but within a few days it looks how it used to again.. if you want to keep it clean i suggest storing some of the things you dont use on a regular basis in the attic. it will free up space in your closet
