It depends on her approach. Is she just talking to you and telling you to be careful? Wear protection? Asking if you have any questions so she can refer you to material that will help you?
If it is a hands on approach then definitely not! Is your father available? If he is, you should go to him with this question. Or an uncle or close older male friend.
In reality, sexual education should come from one's parents. I can never understand what is so hard about parents talking to their kids about sex, drugs and other things. But like as I said, if this situation is physical you really need to get some help from somewhere.

If you mean to tell you about the realities of the sexual world. Then I would say it should be more normal these days. I mean so many parents don't talk to their kids as it is and there are just so many out here that need their parents to talk to them about anything. Hopefully you are taking notes of STDs and other things she is telling you about. Because its no joke. AIDs and everything else is on the rise. Not to mention teen pregnancies, so be very smart and mindful of all she tells you.

I think it really depends on how "practical" she is. Showing you how to put a condom on a banana kinda thing is actually a really cool attitude, but anything to do with touching etc, is definitely not acceptable.

if by "practical" you mean "hands on" or any situation where actual sexual contact took place between you and your mother, absolutely not.
if by "practical" you mean a frank and open discussion about how to handle sexual matters, absolutely.

I think it depends...
my boyfriends family is crazy like that...but they are much older... the youngest is 18 and they are very close...
but I wouldn't say it's normal.

Depends what you mean.
Parents should give sex education
If you mean offering sex to her own offspring, then no...it is not normal.

Not in our family it isn't. Have never heard of anyone who's mother did either, but then, I've led a sheltered life.
