I collect dollhouses, and have built a fiew of my own. I put figurines [I don't want to call them dolls] in each dollhouse. My niece came over for a visit, and saw my newly-started collection of dollhouses. She stripped two of the dolls [as in no clothes at all] in one of the dollhouses and put them together in bed in the master bedroom! What is wrong my niece? She's 10, for cryin' out loud!

FYI: I do not play with the dolls. I collect and built dollhouses, and I put the dolls in it, because it looks so damn empty! I do not play with dolls, okay? I put them in the dollhouses so the dollhouse would look "alive." The dollhouses don't look good when empty [I mean with just the furniture] and no "people" in it! Geez!

Well I've had children take the clothes off of Barbie dolls, but they were younger than ten.

I would say it definitely means something....look out because it could be a cry for help..... or someone could have been talking to her and she was trying to convey some message about it without saying anything specific.

I would ask more questions and see what she says. Ten year olds do not usually strip the dolls. I have enough girls to know.
Younger ones do, just because getting them back on is hard to do...doesn't really mean anything.

But I agree with what you are sensing....something is not "usual" about it....you could clue her mom in and have her ask what it what about.

I am also a dollhouse lover especially antiques. I inherited one from my grand mother which was beautiful and in almost perfect condition. It was complete with mother, father, sister and new born baby. One morning I let my gran daughter PLAY with it, like an idiot! She proceeded to take daddy doll up from the kitchen table. Daddy doll grabbed the kitchen table and turned it upside down! While the kiddie dolls and dogie doll sat and watched. Mommy doll was at the stove. Then daddy doll proceeded to call mommy doll B@$@$&%%$#. I was horrified! Then I ask my grandaughter what was going on? She said that is what daddy calls mommy!. Does that answer your question? I guess that's where the shrinks get their information!!!! Do you think?

She's probably just rein acting what she sees on television and the little that she probably already knows about that stuff. Kids are somehow learning too much at an earlier age than when I was younger. I also remember doing the same thing with my barbies. I don't remember making them naked, but I remember making them kiss and dance, haha. I think she is just being a normal, curious ten year old using her imagination.

She may have been exposed to sexually inappropriate material. This can occur from TV, magazines, computer, or real life. It is not something that should be ignored. Someone needs to discuss this with her without asking leading questions. Her parents may be the responsible parties so someone other than parents. She should not be made to feel that she has done anything wrong. She is just revealing what she has seen.

She's just being a kid - I have a 4yr old daughter who is always stripping the clothes off her dolls (nothing wrong in that at all).
Your niece is obviously older so how do you know she's not done this for a laugh to see your reaction ?

Just assume it was an innocent act, & don't put so much thought into it! Maybe she's seen her parents in bed naked & has deducted that in a big bed 2 people can fit, & they go to bed naked. Deductive reasoning, a sign of maturity & intelligence!

BTW, I think you have a fabulous hobby. If I could afford it, I'd be doing the same!

I'd bet money on the fact that you discovered you could get an erection by the time you were 3 years old. At the latest. What's wrong with you?!?

She's young, she's growing and she's got questions. It's normal and healthy.

She is a ten year old with a curious mind. Alot of what she see's and hears plays a part. Television, radio, friends, parents. I read my first xxx magazine at 8, daddy left them out.

I would first off tell you there is nothing wrong with her. They are begining to talk about sex and sexuality and puberty at school, if not from the educators, for thier peers. That is how it happens, I knew all about sex and even thing about bondage and other unmentionables when I was in 3rd grade. Kids learn younger and younger, and for them to explore what they see and hear about is normal.

maybe the environment around her? or maybe she is well educated by it. ask her as in serious face. "now what are you doing with those dolls?" but make sure to ask the parents first. because she might just thought of it as funny, then when you explain it to her thats when she "knows"..
