I just moved to a town in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan. I know NO ONE and school's starting in September. It'll be really awkward my first day of school if I don't know anybody except the Science teacher. HELP!

I moved quite a few times when I was a kid and I know how hard it is starting out in a new school. Smile, make eye contact with the kids and don't be afraid to say Hey, I'm new here, can you tell me how to get to the gym? or I'm new here, should I try the spaghetti or do you think I should stick with the hamburgers for lunch? Would you mind if I sit with you?
If you're smiling and friendly, they will be too! You'll make lots of new friends, and it really will be OK.

well the good news about living in the UP is that even if you don't know anyone.. you'll be sure to meet them all within a few hours. lol population: 12.

just kidding. good luck though, and approach this the same way you would moving anywhere and being in any situation where you didn't know anyone. Be kind and open, and try to get involved. Maybe you'll make some good friends!
