" Whatever name or word is called out that grabs your attention" !?! For instance : Say you're walking your dog down the steet.. a person outside at that time you may be walking it,' Calls out your name!?! " The dog now knows what can be yelled out to you to grab your attention !! Much like when you'd yell out to your dog !?! for instance your dog is ?? Hercules!?! It now knows how to re`act or respond to that name !! get it ?

I think your dog might think your name is "Here" because of how often it is said when we call them, that or whatever anyone else around you (when the dog is around) calls you.

They know I'm Mumma...
and know my son's name. When I call him they both look in his direction. If he doesn't answer me then they bark at him as if to say..."answer your mother!" It happens every time. They understand many other things as well. When I took philosophy in college we were asked to study and observe an animal for one week and write what we learned...any animal. I was totally amazed at what I learned from my border collie. Lessons worth learning and you'll never forget.
