Accessory. I think if there ever comes a time when my cell phone is a necessity, I'll jump on the nearest plane for a much needed vacation in a tropical place and throw it into the ocean!

Honestly...most of the time accessory (80%), but there are times where it's a necessity (20%) for me to have it.

I manages for a long time without one and so did most everyone else. Its hard to say its a necessity. but it is a very handy accessory.

necessity and an accessory, definitely, i live in the philippines, everyone here has cellphones! even hobos for that matter!..we`re the texting capital..of asia, or perhaps the world!

I think they are a necessity, if you really use them as cellphones and not as mp3 player/laptop/walkie-talkie/GPS. It is convenient in case of an emergency, but not to talk every 5 minutes or using it at home. Or text instead of talk. My humble opinion, don't hate me.

Necessity, I don't have a house phone, I use my cell phone, so it is the only way for people to contact me. Why pay 2 bills when one works!
