Pinkey if you stick with it you will learn to love it. It is an awesome sport. The better you get the simpler it becomes. I won't say easier because it's not an easy sport to learn or play. Along the way you will notice growth and improvement in different areas and aspects of your game and it will be exciting. When you start winning sets, matches, and then tournaments. You will be on an adrenaline high. Just being able to hit the ball and know that it is going where you wanted it to go is such a great feeling now compared to when I first started playing and was just hoping to keep it in. If you get a chance to try out and then play on your school team do it. There is nothing better. Unless of course you end up making it to the pro tour. But even then Highschool, College and University Tennis memories will still be there. Everyone starts where you are at... the key things are to not get frustrated, work hard, improve or get better everyday and enjoy small wins or accomplishments along the way. The more balls you hit and the more time you can commit to it the better you will become in a shorter time frame. Think about Anna Kournikova. She started at age 5 took a clinic or group lessons at age 8 played a local big tourni at age 9 was noticed for her talent and went pro at 15. Not a bad 10 years. Whether your career follows that path or not doesn't matter. It is the sport of a life time that you can enjoy into your golden years and playing mixed doubles later is a blast if you can find the right partner. Stay positive and have fun.

I love tennis. It is my favorite sport, probably because I am really good at it. I play 3 or 4 times a week, although right now I have tennis camp so I play for 5 days for 7 hours a day. I want to go pro, but I have to be realistic since that probably won't happen. But either way, I would love to have a career somewhat linked with tennis.

I really like tennis. I'm pretty short for my age and for groundstroking there is no height advantage at all which is good for me. It's one of the sports that you start out pretty unexperienced but then after playing competitvely and taking some lessons for a few years you'll get alot better. Tennis is a mental and physical sport so it makes you think about how to work around your opponenents strengths and attack their weaknesses. After winning you feel really good about yourself. Tennis is a sport that you can play until you are very old. At my country club, I see people like 85-90 years old still playing tennis.
